The Oceanic Bridge over the Navesink River reopened to all traffic on May 18, 2012.  The weight limit was returned to 15 tons. The bridge had been closed for seven months while repair work to rehabilitate the bridge’s 100-foot, center bascule span was completed.

Monmouth County is now moving forward with plans to replace the Oceanic Bridge in the next five to 10 years. Current plans call for the existing bridge to stay in place during construction.
