Monmouth County Weights & MeasuresThe Monmouth County Department of Weights & Measures is truly a unique department in that the work it performs touches all of our lives virtually every day.

Presently in the State of New Jersey every weighing and/or measuring device used in trade must be inspected and tested for accuracy a minimum of once a year. Devices include, but are not limited to, scales, pharmacy balances, gasoline pumps, fuel oil trucks, etc.

This department also continually reweighs, recounts, and remeasures packages in the market place to verify the labeled quantity. Prices of items are also checked to ensure that scanner read-outs reflect the advertised dollar amount.

The Weights & Measures Office is located at 250 Center Street, Freehold, NJ 07728 and is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Interested parties should call 732-431-7362 with any inquiries or complaints they may have. The fax number is 732-683-8590.
