Fixed Route Services
Fixed route transportation services in Monmouth County are provided by New Jersey Transit, either operated directly or provided by a contractor operating New Jersey Transit equipment by Monmouth County Division of Transportation, or by private-for-profit carriers, Academy and Coach USA.

Other Fixed Route Services
There are two private bus companies that provide commuter bus services from Monmouth County. As is the case with the rail service, much of the bus service is oriented toward the New York/Newark Metropolitan area. Coach USA offers commuter service from the Point Pleasant Park and Ride terminal in Ocean County through the coastal communities of Monmouth County to the Port Authority Bus Terminal and Wall Street. Limited service is available on weekends and throughout the day. Coach USA offers service between the Port Authority in New York City and the Lakewood bus terminal in Ocean County via Freehold Borough, Freehold, Howell, Manalapan, and Marlboro Townships. Frequent service is available during peak hours, and twice an hour during midday hours. Fares vary, depending on length of trip.
