Freeholder Director Thomas A. Arnone issued the following statement regarding Ocean County joining the federal lawsuit against pharmaceutical industry over the opioid crisis:

“On behalf of Monmouth County and the Board of Chosen Freeholders, I am happy to learn that Ocean County is joining the lawsuit against opioid makers.

It should not be overlooked that Monmouth County was the first county in the United States to file a lawsuit against these manufacturers of prescription opioids, over one year ago, and is aggressively pursuing the litigation.

We appreciate the unwavering support of the Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders as they join us in the fight against this national health crisis.”
