FREEHOLD, NJ – On Wednesday, January

its second public meeting for Moving Mindfully: Monmouth/Mercer,
A Comprehensive Freight Related Transportation Study for Western Monmouth and
Southern Mercer Counties.
The meeting will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. (with a
presentation at 7:30 p.m.) at Newell
Elementary School, 27 High Street in Allentown.
This study, funded by the North Jersey Transportation
Planning Authority, will identify short- and long- term strategies in
Allentown, Robbinsville, and Upper Freehold intended to manage freight-related
travel issues and avoid conflicts based on travel patterns, existing and
projected conditions, and planned developments.
At the January 30 meeting, the project team
will present findings of the data collection and analysis including crash hot-spots,
traffic volume, and an inventory of existing infrastructure. Attendees
will have opportunities to ask questions and provide
input. One additional public meeting is planned for April

The final report will provide recommendations that are
intended to ease congestion and promote a safe traveling environment for all
road users.
