East End Avenue Bridge Opens to Traffic

Freehold, NJ—The East End Avenue Bridge connection between Neptune and Neptune City over the Musquash Brook opened on May 17 with a ribbon cutting ceremony after seven months of closure.

The bridge was closed for structural repairs and upgrades, including new curbs, sidewalks, railings and decorative pedestrian lighting.

“We are happy that area residents can resume use of the East End Avenue Bridge, which is now much improved,” said Freeholder Director Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the County’s Department of Public Works and Engineering. “We appreciate the patience of area residents who were inconvenienced by the needed closure.”

Both Freeholder Director Thomas A. Arnone and New Jersey Senator Vin Gopal spoke at the ceremony today, attended by local residents and business owners.
