FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth County Division of Planning will host a seminar about the Right to Farm Act and how it applies to Monmouth County farms on Wednesday, Jan. 31 at the County’s Agricultural Building at 6:30 p.m. at 4000 Kozloski Road.

“We invite municipal officials, local farmers and anyone interested in learning more about the Right to Farm Act to attend this free event,” said Freeholder Deputy Director Lillian G. Burry, liaison to the Planning Board and the Agricultural Board. “In addition to information about the Act, County employees will also explain the role of the Monmouth County Agricultural Board and answer any questions you may have.”

Speakers will discuss the eligibility requirements, protected activities, jurisdiction, preemption and mediation options covered by the Right to Farm Act and highlight sample cases from around the state.

“The Right to Farm Act has a significant impact on farmers, residents and municipalities,” said Freeholder Patrick Impreveduto, a freeholder representative on the County’s Planning Board. “The rules and regulations of the Act and of each municipality, as it pertains to farming, are very important to understand, which is why the County is hosting this event to provide clarity.”

Registration, an opportunity to review literature and meet our Grown in Monmouth team will take place between 6:30 and 7 p.m. Speakers will begin at 7 p.m.
