Environmental Council Holding Public Workshop

May 26, 2016 meeting at Atlantic Highlands Senior Center

ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ
– On Thursday, May 26 the Monmouth County Environmental Council will host a public meeting from 7 to 9 p.m.to discuss the New York-New Jersey Harbor Estuary Program (HEP) 2017 Action Agenda – a critical mandate of the Clean Water Act - to guide how HEP uses its funding and research capacities to carry out shared goals for the Navesink River Watershed and Raritan Bay.

The public is encouraged to attend and provide input about agenda topics that include water quality, habitat restoration, public access, sediment and ports, and public education.

The meeting will be held at the Atlantic Highlands Senior Center, located at 3 Simon Lake Drive, Atlantic Highlands, NJ.

The Monmouth County Environmental Council advises the Monmouth County Planning Board on environmental matters such as water resources and unique areas, and acts as a liaison between the Planning Board, municipal environmental commissions, and other environmental organizations within the county.

HEP is a partnership of government agencies, civic organizations and scientists that work toward a common to-do list for improving the waters, waterfronts, and watersheds of the NY-NJ Harbor and Estuary.
