Monmouth County Local Officials invited to attend Feb. 27, 2016 seminar

LINCROFT, NJ – If you have recently been elected to public office, or have been newly assigned to a leadership role in your community, you are encouraged to sign up for Monmouth County’s Local Government Seminar.

“There are many responsibilities that come with serving on local governing bodies,” Monmouth County Freeholder, John P. Curley said. “Laws change and municipalities must conform to the new regulations which impact all levels of government. People who attend this session will gain some valuable knowledge and insight.”

The Monmouth County Local Government Seminar that will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at Brookdale Community College will focus on many responsibilities, regulations, and changes in municipal laws that impact service on local governing bodies.

The seminar’s guest speakers are highly qualified professionals well versed in the topics on agenda, open public meetings and records, municipal budgeting and finance opportunities, public purchasing, ethics, planning, and government services.

“In the tradition of the great, former Freeholder Theodore Narozanick, it is my privilege to carry-on the annual tradition of engaging and supporting our local officials with an emphasis on educating the newly elected leaders,” Curley said, who has presented the annual seminar for the past five years.

The 2016 Local Government Seminar is free to attendees, but registration is required. To register, call 732-683-8836 or email Lauren.Freda@co.monmouth.nj.us
