Research & Special Studies
The Research & Special Studies Section prepares, analyzes and disseminates demographic, economic, and land-use data for a wide range of data users including municipalities, government agencies, businesses, non-profit organizations, hospitals, the media, libraries, schools, universities, and local citizens.
During a typical year, the staff of the Research & Special Studies Section responds to numerous inquiries for demographic and economic data.

An ongoing responsibility of this Section is to serve as the county liaison for Census 2010. Working with the U.S. Census Bureau and the State Department of Labor, staff of this Section coordinate and organize activities designed to ensure the most accurate census count possible for Monmouth County municipalities. The Section coordinates the Planning Board's annual Planning Merit Award Competition. This includes preparation of the announcement, solicitation for nominations, review of submissions, presentation of submissions to Planning Board members, judging of submissions, and notification of award recipients.
Staff of the Section also provides ongoing technical support to various municipal and county organizations such as the Freehold Center Partnership, the Red Bank River Center, the Western Monmouth Chamber of Commerce, SCORE, and the Brookdale Community College Western Monmouth Task Force.
