The County of Monmouth is about to begin work on a project to replace the Little Silver Creek bridge (S-27) on Seven Bridges Road in the Borough of Little Silver. Replacement of the existing bridge requires the closure of Seven Bridges Road to vehicular traffic between Kings Road and Little Silver Point Road. The closure is scheduled to begin after the July 4th weekend and continue for up to six months.
Temporary traffic signals will be installed on Branch Avenue at the intersections with Rumson Road and White Road/Winfield Avenue. The temporary signals are necessary to improve safety in anticipation of the expected increase in traffic volume resulting from the bridge detour. The county will monitor the detour routes throughout the bridge reconstruction, and if necessary, provide additional signage or initiate other measures to keep traffic flowing as safely and effectively as possible.
