County of Monmouth
Boards & Commissions

Monmouth County is one of the most desirable places to live in New Jersey and is consistently recognized for its remarkable quality of life.  One reason residents enjoy the lifestyle and environment in the county is the result of strong support and citizen involvement.  Your neighbors and friends volunteer their time on various local and county sponsored advisory boards and commissions (committees).

The Board of County Commissioners invites interested and qualified individuals to serve on county committees.  By volunteering your time to serve on a committee, you will be required to attend regular and other special meetings. You should be prepared and available to meet with other committee members regularly to work on county related issues that affect policy and the delivery of services to residents.

Appointment to a committee is generally for a multiple-year term. Some committees require particular qualifications or expertise, in such cases you will be asked to provide a resume or proof of licensure. For example, the Construction Board of Appeals requires that a licensed electrician be on its board.  Accordingly, and applicant must show that s/he is a licensed electrician.

All inquiries are directed to the Clerk of the Board for review and consideration as committee openings occur.  If you are interested in one of the committees, use the link below to apply online. Your information will be forwarded to the Clerk of the Board for inclusion in the selection process.  You may also supplement your application by sending a resume or list of related accomplishments to the Clerk of the Board.
