In FocusFREEHOLD – Continuing efforts to bring more news and information about Monmouth County government directly to residents, the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders has announced that the Summer 2008 edition of the county newsletter is in the mail.

The newsletter, prepared by the county’s Department of Public Information, updates residents on recent happenings in the county. It also directs readers to the county’s Web site at www.visitmonmouth.com, where they can find information on the numerous services Monmouth County offers its residents, as well as other important information.

“The newsletter is an important vehicle to let residents know what’s going on in their county,” Freeholder Director Lillian G. Burry said. “It also directs residents to the county’s Web site, which is constantly being updated with information on many of the services residents need.”

The Summer 2008 edition of “Monmouth In Focus” highlights close-to-home, in-county vacation ideas, important work at the county’s Reclamation Center, the county’s efforts to promote green initiatives, and provides an update on what the freeholders have been doing.

“The newsletter is an important vehicle to keep residents informed about the many county services that are available to them,” said William K. Heine, director of the Department of Public Information. “The newsletter also introduces county services and programs to new residents and encourages the use of the county Web site to obtain the most current information and resources.”

The newsletter is a companion piece to the new television show, launched earlier this year, also called “Monmouth In Focus.” The show airs on local cable channels throughout the county.

In addition to mailing the newsletter, “Monmouth In Focus” is posted online along with county press releases and other county news at www.visitmonmouth.com
