Sheriff’s officer and K-9 recognized by Freeholders
 
FREEHOLD – The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders has recognized Monmouth County Sheriff’s Officer Thomas Duda for his quick response and attention to duty during a statewide call for assistance by the Stevens Institute of Technology.
 
“Officer Duda and his K-9, Rocky, were a valuable addition to the search team that assisted the Hudson County law enforcement community,” Freeholder Director Lillian G. Burry said. “Monmouth County is proud to offer assistance to other county law enforcement agencies. Our officers are always prepared and willing to serve.”
 
The joint response effort took place from April 23-25, 2008 and culminated with the apprehension of a person charged with three counts of arson and one count of making a terroristic threat. Officer Duda and Rocky were recognized for outstanding performance and commitment to the highest standards of law enforcement.
