Neptune high school team brings home honors
Girls basketball team scores three-point honor

FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders proclaimed April 22, 2010 as “Neptune Scarlet Fliers Day” and commended the members of the Neptune High School girls’ basketball team for bringing honor and distinction to themselves, their school and their community.
“These dedicated young women of the Neptune High School basketball team were a triple winner this year,” Freeholder Deputy Director Robert D. Clifton said. “They scored locally, won regionally and ranked nationally. The team finished their amazing season being ranked No. 1 in New Jersey, No. 1 in the Tri State Area and No. 13 in the United States.
Members of the 2010 team were: Sehmonyeh Allen, Nahja Carter, Noelle Carter, Syessence Davis, Khayla Derrell, Chyna Golden, Deidra Govan, Ivy Harrington, Taylor Mallory, Katiera McMillon, Shakena Richardson, Amerisse Rogers, Kierra Smith, Morgan Thompson and Natasha Williams.
The Scarlet Fliers girls’ basketball team of Neptune High School captured the Triple Crown of Championships by winning the 2010 Shore Conference, New Jersey Division Central Group III & Tournament of Champions titles.
Athletic Director Vincent Ardery, Head Coach John Brown and Assistant Coaches Kerri Quinn, B.J. Eckart and Heather George are credited with working with the team to motivate the young Scarlet Fliers to reach their goal of becoming the first Shore Conference Public School to win the Tournament of Champions.
The Board of Chosen Freeholders proudly joined the faculty, parents and fans in honoring the 2010 Scarlet Fliers of Neptune High School for their 31-1-0 season
