Freeholders announce meeting dates
First one is at the Thompson Visitor Center this Thursday

FREEHOLD, NJ  – The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders has announced its initial meeting dates for 2010. The Board’s first regular meeting of the year will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14, at the Thompson Park Visitor Center, 805 Newman Springs Rd., Lincroft.

At the meeting, the Board of Chosen Freeholders will showcase the county Park System’s Thompson Park Visitor Center and the Park System exhibit located in the rebuilt structure that was once home to Monmouth County philanthropists Geraldine and Lewis Thompson.

“We are beginning a full year of events and activities that will showcase 50 years of great efforts by our Park System to make Monmouth County the place you want to be,” Freeholder Director Lillian G. Burry said. “Our parks, open spaces and recreation programs have provided several generations of residents with places to enjoy the out of doors, learn some local history, and get physically and mentally fit. This Board of Chosen Freeholders is proud to support the tradition of public parks and recreation that began in 1960.”

Other Board of Freeholder meetings scheduled for 2010 are:

Jan. 28 – 2 p.m. workshop, 7 p.m. regular public meeting

Feb. 11 – 2 p.m. workshop, 7 p.m. regular public meeting

Feb. 25 – 2 p.m. workshop, 7 p.m. regular public meeting
