Give blood, get $10 gasoline card at July 7 drive
Public is welcome to donate at the county Health Department

FREEHOLD – The Monmouth County Health Department is once again hosting the Central Jersey Blood Center’s annual blood drive. This year’s drive is on July 7 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Health Department, located at 3435 Route 9 north. Walk-ins are welcome.

Each donor will receive a $10 gasoline card.

Donors must eat before giving blood, must present a signature ID, must be healthy and must be at least 17 years old and weigh 120 pounds or more. All equipment used to draw blood is sterile and disposable, and donors can give every eight weeks, if they wish.

“Our hospitals rely on blood drives to keep blood supplies at a safe level,” Freeholder Amy M. Mallet said. “Everyone in the county should give blood at least once during the year. This Monmouth County sponsored blood drive is a good place to start.”

The Monmouth County Department of Public health is located on Route 9 north, next to Kinder University. For further information, please contact Karen Moore, 732-842-5750, extension 243.
