Oceanic Bridge to close for nighttime repairs
Rumson, Middletown connector to be repaired this week

MIDDLETOWN –  Beginning tonight, Monmouth County will close the Oceanic Bridge
from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for repair work. The work is expected to be performed thorough Friday morning, May 22.

Motorists should expect some delays and use the signed detours. The work schedule is weather dependent.  If an adjustment to the work schedule is necessary, updates will be posted to the county’s Web site at www.visitmonmouth.com.

“While the county continues to pursue the replacement of the Oceanic Bridge, we are conducting this repair work now to keep the bridge operational and safe,” said Freeholder Director Barbara J. McMorrow. “The Oceanic Bridge repair project is part of the county’s efforts to responsibly maintain its bridge and roadway infrastructure and to keep traffic moving.”

In total, the county maintains of approximately 380 miles of roads, 980 bridges and culverts and 200 traffic signals.
