County to provide resources for local businesses
Free BizConnect session scheduled April 29 at library headquarters

FREEHOLD – The Monmouth County Department of Economic Development & Tourism will unveil its first BizConnect session – a new series of business resource information programs to help local businesses find the necessary resources to help them thrive in today’s sagging economy.

“These are extraordinary times and we need to find solutions to the challenges that Monmouth County businesses are facing,” said Freeholder Deputy Director John D’Amico, who oversees the county’s Department of Economic Development & Tourism. “We want to make sure the Monmouth County business community knows that the county is available to help identify business resources to assist them as they navigate through these challenging economic times.”

The session is scheduled from 9 a.m. until noon on April 29 at the Headquarters of the Monmouth County Library System, 125 Symmes Dr., Manalapan. The first BizConnect program is entitled “How the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) Can Assist your Business.” There is no charge for this program, but space is limited so advance registration is required.

“The Department is refocusing its resources to be more responsive to the needs of the business community,” said John Ciufo, administrative department director for Planning, Economic Development and Regulatory Affairs. “This refocusing will enable us to maximize business retention, expansion and attraction opportunities. We are looking to connect business people and resources through the sharing of information. ”

Ciufo and Freeholder D’Amico will detail the services of the Department at the event. Joseph Constance, senior account executive from the NJEDA’s Business Assistance and Incentive Programs unit will describe the numerous services and programs that NJEDA has to offer.

“I am excited to have Mr. Constance and NJEDA participating in this program,” Ciufo said. “We want this session to be interactive and have allotted plenty of time for questions and answers.”
