Halls Mills Road Project Parkland Diversion Public Hearing Scheduled

Public comment accepted through January 4, 2018

 

FREEHOLD, NJ –Monmouth County will hold a public hearing about proposed improvements to Elton-Adelphia Road (CR 524), Halls Mill Road, and Edinburgh Drive, and the replacement of bridges F-30 and F-59 on Elton-Adelphia Road (CR 524) and F-29 on Halls Mill Road. 

 

The public hearing will take place at 6 p.m. on Dec. 21 at the Freehold Township Municipal Building, Room 114, at 1 Municipal Plaza. The hearing will be held in accordance with N.J.A.C. 7:36-26.6(c). 


Please note the purpose of this hearing will be to hear comments on the open space diversion request only. A public information session regarding the entire Halls Mills Road Project will be scheduled in the future.

 

The County of Monmouth has filed a request with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Green Acres Program, proposing to divert 0.484 acres of Manasquan River Greenway in connection with the improvements to Elton-Adelphia Road (CR 524), Halls Mill Road, and Edinburgh Drive, and replacement of bridges F-30 and F-59 on Elton-Adelphia Road (CR 524) and F-29 on Halls Mill Road. 

 

As compensation for the proposed diversion, the County proposes adding 0.739 acres to the Manasquan River Greenway as replacement land.

 

Information about this requested diversion of parkland project is available for review at the Freehold Township Clerk’s office located at 1 Municipal Plaza; Monmouth County Library at 125 Symmes Drive, Manalapan Township; and the Green Acres Program office at 501 East State Street, Trenton.

Public Comment on this diversion request will be accepted during the public hearing on December 21, 2017 and through January 4, 2018.
