Freeholders set 2009 public meeting schedule
Meetings for community locations and county seat included

FREEHOLD – The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders has set its 2009 meeting schedule with regular evening meetings in Avon-by–the-Sea, Hazlet, Interlaken, Marlboro, Ocean Township, Red Bank and Union Beach.

“I am proud to be continuing on our journey to better government by holding the regular public meetings of the Board of Chosen Freeholders in the evenings and at various municipalities throughout the county,” Freeholder Director Barbara J. McMorrow said. “Holding the Board’s regular public meetings in the evening hours promotes participation by residents.”

The Board of Chosen Freeholders will meet on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. Workshop meetings will continue to be held at 2 p.m., but all regular meetings will be held at 7 p.m. Additionally, evening meetings on the fourth Thursdays from March through September will be rotated throughout the county as was done in the past. All other meetings will be held in the Hall of Records.

According to James Gray, clerk to the freeholder board, the meeting rotation is designed to cover all regions of the county and provide opportunities for residents to attend meetings closer to home or work.
