‘Monmouth In Focus’ newsletter now online

FREEHOLD – The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders has announced that the Winter 2009 edition of the county newsletter is now online.

The newsletter updates residents on recent events in the county and directs readers to the county’s Web site where they can find information on the many services Monmouth County offers its residents, as well as other important information. Click here to read the newsletter.

“The newsletter is a great way to learn about what is going on around county and contains the most up-to-date information about what the Board of Chosen Freeholders is doing,” Freeholder Lillian G. Burry said. “It also directs residents to the county’s Web site, which is growing rapidly and contains a wide range of information on many of the services residents need.”

The Winter 2009 edition of “Monmouth In Focus” highlights the county’s progress on the Strategic Plan, provides an update on efforts to promote shared services, offers information on how residents can recycle old computer and stereo components, and brings residents up to date on the county’s go-green initiative with regard to the new Greenhouse Gas Reduction Committee.

“The newsletter is an important communications tool to highlight for residents specific activities or services that are available to them,” said William K. Heine, director of the Department of Public Information. “It helps localize county government by highlighting activities of the freeholders and sharing information about the wide variety of services being offered.”

The newsletter, prepared by the county’s Department of Public Information, is a companion piece to the county’s television show, also called “Monmouth In Focus.” The show airs on local cable channels throughout the county and is entering its second season.

The “Monmouth In Focus” newsletter is posted online along with county press releases and other county news at www.visitmonmouth.com
