Asbury Park JET students lauded

Junior Entrepreneur Training students successful at Made in Monmouth

FREEHOLD, NJ – Asbury Park Junior Entrepreneur Training (JET) students received certificates of recognition for participating in the 2015 Monmouth County Made in Monmouth expo in April.
The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders presented Asbury Park Junior Entrepreneur Training (JET) students with certificates of recognition for participating in the 2015 Made in Monmouth expo in April at their regular public meeting on May 28 in Keyport.

“These young entrepreneurs worked hard to create a business plan and then reach out to local businesses to secure loans to finance their plans,” said Freeholder Thomas A. Arnone. “The Director of the Asbury Park JET program, Charles Simmons, reached out to the Division of Economic Development and told them that the JET students wanted to be a part of Made in Monmouth.”

The Asbury Park JET students had so much success at Made in Monmouth that they were able to pay back their loans in full and make a profit.

“These students are our future and it is great to see them show so much initiative and drive,” said Arnone. “The Board applauds the work of the JET program and appreciates the program being a part of the Made in Monmouth expo.”

The Freeholders presented the JET students with certificates of recognition at their regular public meeting on May 28 in Keyport.

The Asbury Park JET program is a twelve week hands-on program that teaches students who live in Asbury Park how to start a business.

The goal of the Asbury Park JET program is to improve future educational success of middle school aged children in Asbury Park through entrepreneurship.
