Freeholders honor County high school football teams

Five teams won NJSIAA State Championship titles for 2014 season

FREEHOLD, NJ – On Thursday, Feb. 26, the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders recognized the five Monmouth County high school football teams who took home State Championship titles in the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) Central Jersey Tournaments. Coaches and players of the 2014 NJSIAA State Championship teams are recognized at the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders meeting on Feb. 26, 2015 in Freehold, NJ.
“These dedicated young men should be very proud of their State Championship titles,” said Freeholder Deputy Director Serena DiMaso. “By training and playing with passion and skill they have brought honor to their schools, their families and the entire County.”

The five high schools honored included Manalapan High School, Matawan Regional High School, Red Bank Catholic High School, Rumson-Fair Haven High School and Shore Regional High School.

Each of the teams received a certificate recognizing their accomplishment. After the presentation of each school’s certificate, the coach and the players shared some of their thoughts about their winning season and what being part of a team meant to them.
