Oceanport Avenue emergency repair update

Road to open at 2 p.m.; alternating lanes of traffic Feb. 4

 

LITTLE SILVER, NJ – Oceanport Avenue between Silverside Avenue in Little Silver and Main Street in Oceanport will reopen at 2 p.m. today.
New Jersey American Water Company will return to the area to repair a water main break at County Bridge S-25 tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 4.

Motorists on Oceanport Avenue should expect alternating lanes of traffic between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.

“This emergency work is being performed to maintain the water service,” said Freeholder Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the County’s Department of Public Works and Engineering. “We appreciate the patience of the traveling public while the work is performed to make these necessary repairs.”

In total, the County maintains of approximately 1,000 lane miles of roads, 980 bridges and culverts and 250 traffic signals and beacons.
