Learn backyard composting
Residents can reduce waste and improve soil
FREEHOLD – The Monmouth County Planning Board has announced its fall 2008 Backyard Composting schedule for Monmouth County residents. The advance registration sessions to learn how to reduce yard and household waste and to improve your soil are as follows:

Sunday, Sept. 28 at 10 a.m. – Deep Cut Gardens, 352 Red Hill Rd, Middletown

Saturday, Oct. 18 at 10 a.m. – Marlboro Twp. Recreation Complex, Wyncrest Rd., Marlboro

Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. – Shrewsbury Boro Hall, 419 Sycamore Ave., Shrewsbury Borough

Saturday, Nov. 1 at 10 a.m. – Deep Cut Gardens, 352 Red Hill Rd, Middletown
There is no charge to attend the workshops, but space is limited and advance registration is required. Register by calling 732-431-7460 or by downloading the registration form from
www.visitmonmouth.com.
Participants may purchase a composting bin at the session. A Handy Composter is $10 and the Earth Machine is $25.
