State Department recognizes County Connection

Office earns Leading Acceptance Facility designation

NEPTUNE, NJ- The Monmouth County Connection, the first satellite office of county government, has been recognized by the U.S. Department of State as a Leading Acceptance Facility because of its dedication to excellent customer service.

As a result of this honor, the Monmouth County Connection has been chosen to participate in a customer service-oriented pilot program to help the Department of State better understand customer preferences. Only eight passport acceptance facilities, out of 8,500, were chosen to participate.

“The Monmouth County Connection has been acknowledged as a Leading Acceptance Facility because the satellite office offers additional, customer-friendly services that are not available at most passport acceptance facilities,” said County Clerk M. Claire French. “The Connection’s enhanced services include extended hours, photo services and walk-in availabilities, which provide the American traveling public with a more convenient, seamless passport application process.”

The Monmouth County Connection has been accepting passport applications since November 2012 and, in 2013 alone, accepted over 5,500 applications.

“Kudos to the County Connection staff and County Clerk Claire French,” said Freeholder Director Lillian G. Burry. “This national designation reflects the care and attention the staff gives to each passport applicant.”

Passport applications are accepted Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Customers do not need to make an appointment to apply.
