Monmouth County to host ‘Green Fair’ on Sept. 18
‘Lunchtime Series of the Environment’ expands, includes exhibitors

FREEHOLD – Monmouth County’s “Lunchtime Series on the Environment” will be a little bigger this month when it is combined with a Green Energy Fair to be held Sept. 18 at the county’s Agriculture Building at 4000 Kozloski Rd. in Freehold Township.

The fair will focus on solar and wind energy, and energy conservation. At least a dozen exhibitors will have information available.

Speakers include Rick Dovey, president of Atlantic County Utilities Authority, who will talk about the Atlantic City wind farm; Richard King and John Leonard of American Energy Technologies, who will discuss large-scale solar installations, and Doug Shattuck of the New Jersey Clean Energy Program, who will share information about the New Jersey Smart Buildings Incentives Program.

The program, co-hosted by Freeholder Barbara J. McMorrow and John D’Amico Jr., runs from noon until 3 p.m. The program is free, and a light lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m.

“I’m very excited about the Green Fair because we will have a vast array of resources under one roof at the same time,” McMorrow said. “I’m hopeful that many of our local officials will be able to take advantage of these ideas and begin implementing some of them in their own towns.”

“Green initiatives are all about protecting our health and the health of our planet by reducing negative impacts on the environment,” D’Amico said. “People will do the right thing if they have the right information, and our environmental luncheons are designed to share this information.”

Please RSVP to the office of Freeholder McMorrow by calling 732-683-8837 by Sept. 15, as seating is limited, or sending an e-mail to freeholdermcmorrow@gmail.com.
