Freeholders mourn the death of Robert J. Collins
Served as county administrator for 22 years
FREEHOLD – The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders is saddened by the sudden passing of Robert J. Collins, a long-time county employee who served as county administrator for 22 years until his retirement in 2002, and offers the following statement:
“Bob Collins worked tirelessly on behalf of the citizens of Monmouth County to preserve and enhance the quality of life we all value and enjoy today. He did this while steering the county through one of its greatest growth periods that included development of the best county park, library and educational systems. His contributions to Brookdale Community College and the county vocational schools, as well as his efforts to build a state-of-the-art Reclamation Center and close the many local landfills that existed around the county, are unparalleled. He will be sorely missed.”
