Sandy recovery update

Two state hotlines established for elevation questions

FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders wants residents and business owners to know that two state hotlines have been established to answer questions about elevating a home or business.

“As our residents continue to recover and rebuild from Superstorm Sandy, we want to make sure that they  know about all the resources available to them,” said Freeholder Director Thomas A. Arnone. “We understand that this information is time sensitive and therefore, we share these updates with our residents as soon as we receive them.”

Residents who are seeking elevation funds must contact and register the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (NJDCA) at www.sandyhelp.nj.gov.

All elevation projects will run through the NJDCA State run elevation process.

The following two hotlines have been set up to answer all homeowner and business owner questions regarding elevations:

  • 855-SANDYHM (855-726-3946) for homeowners
  • 855-SANDYBZ (855-726-3929) for business owners

“With so many rules and guidelines to follow as we rebuild from Superstorm Sandy, there are so many questions that arise,” said Freeholder Lillian G. Burry, liaison to the Monmouth County Office of Emergency Management. “I encourage residents to take advantage of the two hotlines and remember that you are not alone in this process of recovery.”
