County WIB salutes partners

 Five local recipients honored at annual dinner
 
FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth County Workforce Investment Board (WIB) honored five standouts in workforce and community leadership at its 22nd Annual Partnership Awards Dinner on April 18 at Branches in Long Branch. Assemblywoman Mary Pat Angelini; Lou Papparozzi - Community Partnership, Eileen Higgins - WIB Executive Director; Commissioner Harold Wirths - Government Partnership; John Andrews - Business Partnership; Mayor Ed Johnson - Community Partnership; Eric Houghtaling - Organized Labor Partnership; Violeta Peters - WIB Trustee; Freeholder John Curley;Sitting: Assistant Prosecutor Tom Huth - Community Partnership; Barry Semple - Education Partnership; Deputy Director Freeholder Serena DiMaso

“These partners have dedicated themselves to helping develop a world-class workforce right here in Monmouth County,” said Freeholder Deputy Director Serena DiMaso, liaison to the County’s Division of Workforce Development. “Each of our recipients is assisting us in providing phenomenal services to our residents.”

The five honorees this year were: SolarCity for Business, Asbury Park Community Development Youth Initiative for Community Service, Harold J. Wirths for Government, Barry Semple for Education and Eric Houghtaling for Organized Labor.

The WIB directs the delivery of education, employment and training programs to county residents and businesses. The WIB builds partnerships in the public and private sectors to maximize resources to build a high quality and competitive workforce.

Proceeds from the event support the WIB’s Scholarship Fund which provides scholarships to the Brookdale Community College Foundation to assist low income students attending Brookdale Community College.
