Clean up materials, batteries and other items needed in Hurricane Sandy relief efforts

Lincroft, NJ- Donations continue to pour into Thompson Park, 805 Newman Springs Rd.  (Route 520) with cleanup materials and batteries being the most sought after items.

• Other cleaning materials in demand are:
• Work gloves & rubber gloves
• Rakes, shovels
• Goggles
• Heavy duty trash bags
• Mops, brooms sponges
• Hand sanitizer
• Dish detergent
• Laundry detergent
• Bleach
• Disinfectants

“We are extremely grateful to all the people and businesses that have been sending donations from across the country to assist in relief efforts,” said Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden. “Because of this widespread effort our donation center is in good shape with clothing, water and non perishable food for now, but, the demand for cleanup supplies and batteries remain.”

Donations collected continue to be given out between 8 a.m. and at three Monmouth County distribution sites:

• Holy Family Church – 910 Route 36, Hazlet

• Monmouth Park – Oceanport Ave., Oceanport

• Circle Factory Outlet- (formerly known as Peddler’s Village) 1407 Atlantic Ave. at the Route 35 Circle, Manasquan

In addition, the supplies Monmouth County receives are also being sent to the towns hardest hit by the storm and being distributed to local shelters and soup kitchens.

The donation center at Thompson Park is open from 8am to 4pm. Thompson Park is a donation site only – no distribution will be made there.
