County offices closed on Tuesday, Oct. 30
Clerk of Elections plans to open 10 a.m. -2 p.m
FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders has ordered the closure of all non-essential Monmouth County offices for Tuesday, Oct. 30. The closure is precautionary and in anticipation of the overnight severe weather predictions for Hurricane Sandy.
The county’s essential functions including public works and law enforcement will continue to operate with essential employees report to work on Tuesday as scheduled.
The Election Offices at 300 Halls Mills Road expect to be open from 10 am. to 2 p.m. to process Vote By Mail applications.
“In the interest of safety for our residents and our employees, we are closing all but essential county offices on Tuesday” said Freeholder Thomas A. Arnone who visited the county’s Office of Emergency Management on Monday. “Our staff is working around the clock to assist our municipal OEM offices and support the two state shelters.”

The county declared a state of emergency on Saturday to allow the Office of Emergency Management to mobilize all county resources and direct them where they are needed to protect life and property.
Hurricane Sandy is expected to arrive Monday evening and continue with high winds, torrential rain and the potential for major flooding through Tuesday.
