Freeholders congratulate Keyport Ministerium
Food Pantry celebrates 25 years of service to community
FREEHOLD – The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders has proclaimed July 10, 2008 as Keyport Ministerium Food Panty Day in recognition of groups 25 years of dedicated service to the community.
“The Keyport Ministerium Food Pantry provides food and other services to low-income families, senior citizens, veterans and others who are in need of advice and friendship,” said Freeholder Barbara J. McMorrow, liaison to the county’s Department of Human Services. “In addition to food, individuals who come to the pantry can also gain assistance with housing, utilities and medical bills as they work through their immediate and long-term problems.”
Keyport Ministerium Food Pantry Inc., a nonprofit corporation, was founded in May 1983 with members from nine churches: Cavalry UMC, Community Church, Faith Reformed Church, First Baptist Church, Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Grace UMC, Second Baptist Church, St. John’s UMC, St. Mary the Virgin Episcopal Church.
