Glimmer Glass bridge maintenance next week
One-day closure for span that connects Brielle and Manasquan
BRIELLE, NJ – The Glimmer Glass Bridge (W-9) along Fisk Avenue between Brielle and Manasquan will undergo necessary maintenance repairs on Wednesday, July 25 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
To perform these repairs, the Monmouth County Division of Bridges will close the bridge’s roadway.
“Monmouth County prides itself on safety, especially with its movable bridges,” said Freeholder Deputy Director Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the county’s Department of Public Works and Engineering. “This work must be completed now so that we can complete the busy summer season with a bridge that is in good working order. We are working to limit the inconvenience.”
The bridge closure will not affect marine traffic.
“The plan is to start after the morning commute and complete the maintenance work by mid-afternoon,” John W. Tobia, director of Monmouth County Public Works and Engineering. “This schedule provides minimal disruption to the majority of travelers.”
