NJ American Water Co. issues ‘boil water advisory’
Three water mains collapse; 18 Monmouth County towns affected
FREEHOLD, NJ – Residents in 18 Monmouth County municipalities serviced by New Jersey American Water Company have been directed to discontinue all nonessential water use after three water mains collapsed at the Company’s Swimming River Water Treatment Plant in Tinton Falls.
As a precautionary measure, New Jersey American Water has also issued a “boil water advisory” for customers in Monmouth County.
Affected towns include Middletown, Holmdel, Aberdeen, Highlands, Rumson, Fair Haven, Little Silver, Oceanport, Sea Bright, Tinton Falls, Shrewsbury, Long Branch, Eatontown, West Long Branch, Deal, Allenhurst, Loch Arbour and Neptune.
