Freeholders congratulate the Crimson Knights
Wall High School softball team wins Shore Conference Tournament
WALL, NJ – The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders has honored the Wall High School Crimson Knights softball team for its first Shore Conference win in more than two decades. Freeholder Gary J. Rich Sr. visited the school on Tuesday to present the student athletes with a proclamation.
Rich, a former high school teacher, told the girls their accomplishment is something they will treasure for many years to come. “Every time you walk into this building you’ll be able to see the trophy and say you were part of that,” Rich said. “It is a memory you will have forever.”
The Shore Conference is comprised of private and public high schools and operates under the jurisdiction of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association. The Wall Crimson Knights finished their season with a winning 25-5 record.
At the final game, the fourth-seeded Wall Crimson Knights closed the 2012 softball season by outscoring the third-seeded St. John Vianney team 8-7, giving the Crimson Knights their first Shore Conference Tournament softball championship title in 22 years.
The Shore Conference winning Crimson Knights Softball Team members are Sydney Canessa, Alexis Carlsson, Emily Cilinski, Alexandra Clayton, Jessica Goldman, Jennifer Guerriero, Carly Herbert, Mary Kilgallen, Kirby Marron, Danielle Petrone, Nicole Petrone, Amanda Pringle, Katie Wingel, Alex Doman, Xiara Ramos, Hannah Hunt and John Michael Keynton, who were led by Head Coach Anthony Vodola and Tom Jansky, Jerry Schulte, Sherri Cate, Brad Hansen, Ashley Wilson and Maggie Margadonna, achieved extraordinary heights of accomplishment.
Team members also received certificates from Assemblyman David P. Rible.
