Monmouth Park Water Samples

The Monmouth County Department of Health (MCHD) monitors 11 sites around Monmouth Park.

  • Site 2 is in the creek upstream of the MP stables.
  • Sites 1, 5 and 6 are on MP property.
  • Sites 6A, 7, 14, 13, 12, 15 and 16 are in Bracnchport Creek downstream of MP.

Measurements are performed in the field and at the laboratory.

Update - June 5, 2009

  • The most recent sampling results indicate elevated bacteria consistent with stormwater runoff from Monmouth Park, with the levels decreasing with distance from the park. Advisory signs are posted from the Branchport Av. bridge to Pocano Dr., Oceanport.
